This is one of my favorite pieces. This is by Robert Blue. Blue passed away a couple of years ago. He was mostly known for his pin-up and fetish images of Betty Page. This piece is called Afghan. The Matting is a handwrapped raw silk. The frame is a Birdseye Maple. The wall behind it is a very soft mint green.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This was the first piece by the artist Dennis Mukai that I collected. I thought the style was very different. This piece is framed in a hand dyed silk wrapped matt. The photo doesn't do the colors of the piece or the matting justice. The Frame is a very wide stepped black lacquer. This was a gift to myself. This Dennis Mukai piece was part of a series he did for the seasons. This is called "Summer". I bought this piece when I got into Law School. It's hard to tell from the photo but the groove cut into the matting is the same purple as the bathing suit top.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This was the first piece I saw by Dennis Mukai that really caught my attention to his work. This piece is called Jonesy. The model is Janet Jones the wife of Wayne Gretzky, like I care about sports. But I thought the piece was striking.
